What sets great players like Stephen Curry, Lebron James, and Anthony Davis apart are their playmaking skills. Presented by Bay City Director and International High School Boys Varsity Head Coach Paul Cortes, this clinic will feature competitive, game like drills that improve each athlete’s court vision, including what to look for and when to look for it, and then how to use that court vision in order to make plays.
Drills will be comprised of competitive situations where players will be able to explore their options and then get feedback in real-time. Players will be placed in the following situations:
- 1v1, 2v1, and 3v2 advantages
- Getting yourself open: cutting and making yourself available to receive a pass
- Getting each other open: creating advantages with ball screens, screen-aways, and dribble handoffs
- Driving and Dishing/Kicking
- How to help and rotate on defense to take away the advantage
- Knowing when to finish/shoot in order to complete the play
The clinic will feature a fun, engaging format where players will learn how to see the game, think the game, and play the game at a higher level using a modified games format. This format will build from 1v1 to 5v5 teaching transition, half court, and press defense and offense concepts.
